For a smart kitchen project an icon set had to be designed for several given functions as listed below. The icons set has been developed and designed in a group of four students. The goal was to create icons which can be perceived quickly in different sizes and screen resolutions. Also using objects from the real world should make the icons more relatable. Adding a pattern and a color shadow gives the icons personality and a modern look which fits well into the context.
